Description
Alex’s Bar is a legendary punk rock bar, live music venue, and neighborhood dive nestled in the heart of Long Beach, California at 2913 E Anaheim St, Long Beach, CA 90804.
Known for its high-energy atmosphere, the venue features striking blood-red walls, red curtains, ghoulish decor, and velvet paintings of counterculture icons. It is also famously recognized by pop-culture fans as a filming location for the vampire bar Fangtasia in HBO’s True Blood, as well as scenes from Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

Tickets & EntryTicketing is typically handled via DICE; shows regularly sell out due to the limited capacity.

Venue & Atmosphere
The Music & Crowd: It primarily acts as a staple for hardcore punk, rock 'n' roll, ska, and metal bands, hosting national acts like the Melvins alongside local underground artists. It also regularly hosts soul/funk vinyl nights, record swaps, and themed dance parties.
Layout: The interior is intimate with a capacity of 300 people, featuring a main stage and a standing-room-only setup. There is no permanent indoor seating, but it features a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating and a smoking section.
Age Requirement: The venue is strictly 21 and over at all times with no exceptions.
Menu & Drinks: A full bar with reasonably priced drinks, featuring an expansive draft list including local favorites like "Alex's Bar Blonde" (by Long Beach Beer Lab), Russian River's Pliny the Elder, and custom craft cocktails.
Food: While there is no full-time internal kitchen, they host rotating local food trucks and pop-up food vendors for special events and concerts.
